Fred Weiss
Fred lives and paints in Delray Beach, Florida, where he shares studio space with his son’s collection of vintage race cars and motor racing memorabilia — a setting that’s as colorful as his work.
Rather than creating with commercial goals in mind, Fred is driven by curiosity and experimentation. Most of his paintings begin with a color palette, a mood, or even just the feeling of a time of day. From there, the subject tends to reveal itself naturally.
A lifelong traveler, Fred draws inspiration from years of living and exploring across the United States, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America. His art often reflects the textures, tones, and atmospheres of these experiences.
When he’s not in the studio, you’ll likely find Fred in the kitchen, happily playing sous chef to his wife Amy’s many cooking and baking adventures.
Fred holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Chicago, and the London School of Economics — none of which focused on art. He currently studies at The Art School at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, where he continues to refine and expand his creative practice.
